How to Ask for a Donation
Asking for donations is easier for some people than for others. Here are some examples of ways to ask for donations to FAAN’s Trick-or-Treat for Food Allergy:
“Hi! My name is ______. Instead of candy, I’m collecting donations for food allergy education and research. Would you like to make a donation?”
“Hi! My name is ______. I have (or my sister, cousin, friend has) a food allergy, and I have to be careful not to eat a food that would cause a reaction. So instead of collecting candy, I’m collecting donations to help others just like me (or my sister, cousin, friend)! Would you like to make a donation?”
And, of course, don’t forget to say “please” and “thank you”!
How to Submit Your Donation
There are two ways to submit your donations to Trick-or-Treat for Food Allergy: online or by mail. Donations must be made online or postmarked by November 30 to count toward your prize.
When making an online donation, select Trick-or-Treat for Food Allergy as the program. Be sure to type the name and age of the child who will receive the prize in the Donation Comment box. This way, we can reward them for their good work! When you’re finished click Process Order!
Make a Donation by Mail
To donate by mail, fill out the donation submission form you received with your collection box, and send it in the return envelope, along with your donation (by check, money order, or credit card) for the total amount raised, to:
