Food Allergy PAL Day

Do your kids want an excuse to wear pajamas, a crazy hat, or something else wacky you wouldn’t normally wear to school? Are you looking for a way to help spread food allergy awareness? Support The Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN), by having a Food Allergy PAL Day!

Designating a day at school to promote food allergy awareness is a quick and easy way to get people involved and teach them how to Protect A Life from Food Allergies. To start planning your Food Allergy PAL Day e-mail PALDay@foodallergy.org. We will mail you stickers, a donation form, and a reply envelope.

In the meantime here are some things to get you started.

  • Download the Food Allergy PAL Day flyer (.pdf ~300 kb) to hand out and hang up at your child’s school.
  • Download the PAL hero award (.pdf ~300kb), and make enough copies for everyone in the school to get one if they participate. (Don’t forget a fancy pen or marker for printing each child’s name on the certificate.)
  • Download the PAL brochure (.pdf ~223kb) and make copies for everyone at the school to learn more about food allergies.

Schools, both public and private, love the idea because it allows the students to be creative, raise funds for a good cause, and have fun at the same time. When students, teachers, and school staff participate they will get a “Be a PAL” sticker and certificate to show that they support food allergy awareness.

To learn more e-mail PALDay@foodallergy.org or call (800) 929-4040 and ask about Food Allergy PAL Day. Have a great time, and make sure to send pictures of your event!
